FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Marc Udelhoven JTAG ADAPTER SYSTEM REDUCES REAL ESTATE ON YOUR PC BOARD
Santa Clara, California, November 2004 - Adapters.com comes to the rescue with the introduction of the JTAG Small Interface Cable Adapter. A standard JTAG connector is a 20-pin dual row connector with a 0.1" or 2.54 mm pitch. It takes up quite a bit of room on your PCB. The Small Interface Cable Adapter (SICA) reduces that footprint to about 1/6th of the size. The adapter line uses a surface mount connector set with a 0.5 mm pitch on the target side. The user mounts the "male" connector on the target board, then with the use of the flex circuit interface cable he or she can debug the system using a JTAG instrument or emulator. The male connector on the target board is also very low profile, so it is very advantageous in tight places. The user has to design this connector in to take advantage of the SICA system. The adapter line is rated to 500 insertion and extraction. The kit comes with the flex cable assembly and one male connector. Additional connectors are also available from Adapters.com at $10.00 each. All of the connectors are keyed in both sides to aid proper pin alignments. Availability and Pricing
