ADAPTERS.COM introduces its own version of the popular "DELTA PROBE" line.

Santa Clara, California, September 1, 2004 - Adapters.com today announced the availability of a high-density test clip product line. The Lock-Wedge Test Clip series (formally has been available under the "Delta Probe" name from various vendors) uses an unique technology to solve the complex problem of monitoring all of the signals at once on quad flat pack (QFP), thin small outline (TSOP), small outline (SOIC), and other fine-pitch IC packages. The line covers several pin counts from 32 pin to 240 pin. Over 25 different Lock-Wedge Test Clip configurations will be available soon.
"The Delta Probe product line was well accepted in the industry, since it is a reliable solution for thin packages," said Gabor Kardos, president of Adapters.com. "We carry stock for all popular pin counts, lead pitches and body sizes".
"We are aware of the large variety of different pin counts and package sizes available on the market today, and the dimensional diversity of these packages for the same size is extensive. Technical support is very important to determine the customers' actual need, since just reviewing the package specification can be misleading. The specification and the actual package can differ significantly." Mr. Kardos continued.
Even with standards in place, slight variations of the tooling at various vendors and locations often reproduces somewhat thicker/thinner, narrow/wider dimensions than the specification. The Lock-Wedge Test Clip is made up of an array of wedge shaped conductors, which make contact by the penetrating between the IC legs, ignoring the package body, which is never reliable for perfect alignment.

The Lock-Wedge Test Clips are available in over 10 different sizes, pin counts, lead pitches and form factors. Single quantity prices start at $525. They are available for QFP in pin counts starting at 32 up to 240 and in pitches starting at 0.8 mm and going down to 0.4 mm and for TSOP, SOIC with various lead pitches and pin counts.
